Correspondence with members of his family, his factor, William Cooke & Sons, Baltimore, George Washington Lewis, Robert T. Knox, and others. A letter, 1855 July 2, Rev. Joseph A. Russell, Stillwater, Minn. to Stuart concerns the religious situation there. Letters, 1860-61, between Stuart and his son-in-law Sholto Turbervillie Stuart concern the sale of slaves to Samuel R. Walker [a slave dealer?]. Papers, 1866-70, relating to the sale of Longwood, Westmorland Co., by G.W. Lewis. The collection also contains Stuart's will and a 20th century genealogy showing the relationships of the people in the collection.
